Serious BIMx PRO airtime in Apple Keynote
News • Central Innovation • 1 April 2016
As you may have seen, Apple recently released a feature video for the iPad Pro, which was also seen in the March 2016 Apple Keynote. To our great joy, they decided to present their technological vision for the 9.7 inch iPad Pro with the help of GRAPHISOFT’s BIMx PRO, among others. Of course we said yes and gave them all the support we could so they could use BIMx PRO with its mark-up and messaging system through GRAPHISOFTBIMcloud.
If you are curious or missed the action, these instances show the use of BIMx PRO in the iPad feature video:
1. 0:11 – View and navigate through a 3D model of the building, then switch to a linked 2D view with the help of navigation markers.
2. 0:18 – From section view, instantly animate into a 3D Cutaway view of the building, with the overlayed section drawing.
3. 0:37 – Discuss design alternatives through the built-in messaging system allowing screenshots and mark-ups.
As we see in the video, the architect is presumably working with his contractor partner who is located in another part of the world to realize a building project. They also use Facetime meanwhile working, which adds another great twist to the design to client communication workflow.
BIMx PRO was also shown separately in the Keynote, when Phillip Schiller talks about power in performance and rendering in the iPad Pro.
We are honored to be featured for the second time now next to the Apple iPad, and are grateful to all our customers using BIMx!
