You’ll click on a hotspot and try to drag it but the element you’re adjusting is stretching the opposite direction! You might even notice some faint dots leading out to infinitum.

Chances are, you need to modify your editing plane!

Changing the editing plane from vertical to horizontal for instance may help in this case.
